Upcountry Troops Offer Blood for Surgeries at Kandy Hospital

Over 83 Army personnel serving the 111 Brigade and the 11 Division HQ of the Security Force HQ-Central voluntarily came forward to donate blood during a blood donation project, organized by the Main Branch of the Bank of Ceylon in Central Province on Monday (1).

Responding positively to the request, the General Officer Commanding, 11 Division and the 111 Brigade Commander instructed their troops to participate in the arrangement, held at the Bank of Ceylon Kandy Branch premises.

Officers and Other Ranks considering the humanitarian nature of the need donated their blood since the Kandy Blood Bank is in need of more stocks for surgeries and operations.
