UNIFIL Dy Force Commander Meets Sri Lankan Peacekeepers in Lebanon

Brigadier General Chok Bahadur Dhkal, the newly appointed Deputy Force Commander (DFC) of the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) on Monday (Dec 12) paid a courtesy visit to the Sri Lanka Force Protection Company (FPC) after his assumption of new responsibilities in the UNIFIL.

The DFC was warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel S.M.D.N Samarakoon, Officer Commanding of the FPC in Lebanon and entertained him to a cultural dance by the oriental dancing group of the Sri Lanka Army after he arrived at the entrance.

During the visit, the Officer Commander of FPC briefed the DFC on the role and tasks pertaining to the Sri Lankan Peacekeepers in Lebanon before he had a close look at the Armoured Personnel Carrier section and the K-9 special military dog section during a field visit. The day's protagonist did not forget to share a couple of thoughts with those Sri Lankan Peacekeepers serving the UN at the location before his departure from the compound.
