UN Official of MINUSMA Meets Director of Overseas Operations

The UN official, Mr. Abdoulaye Taher Jimmy Rodrigue called on the Director Overseas Operations of the Army, Brigadier G.L.S.W Liyanage USP psc on Monday (28 August) at Army Headquarters.

Mr Jimmy Rodrigue during his cordial meeting with the Director Overseas Operations discussed modalities pertaining to the smooth rotation of deployments of Sri Lanka Army Combat Convoy Company troops in Mali (MINUSMA) on the eve of a dispatch of a new contingent.

Further, the Director acknowledged the continued support, being extended by the United Nations in deploying troops for the United Nations peacekeeping operations.

Mr Jimmy Rodrigue arrived in Sri Lanka on Saturday (26 August) as a Rotation Coordinator of the Sri Lankan Contingent of 5th Combat Convoy Company (CCC) in Mali, MINUSMA and will leave Sri Lanka with the new Mali-bound rotational contingent.
