MULLAITTIVU: TROOPS guarding ALAMPIL area observed two boats in the sea moving towards them around 3.00 a.m. Saturday morning (4). Those two boats armed with machine guns started firing towards the soldiers on the land.
Troops retaliated using automatic weapons destroying both boats with several LTTE terrorists on board.
Later troops recovered seven dead bodies of LTTE terrorists, one Light Machine Gun (LMG), one M-16 riffle, one pistol, one Global Positioning System (GPS), one satellite phone and five man packs in a search conducted on the beach area.
