Two More Houses, Built by Army Gifted to the Homeless in North Central Province

To coincide with the 72nd Army Anniversary, 212 Brigade troops of the 21 Division through the coordination of Brigadier Anil Peiris who was formally serving the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni, currently Commander Armour Brigade, warmed two new houses and delivered keys to the beneficiaries on 11 October 2021 during separate simple ceremonies.

The main financial sponsors for both projects were Mr Rasith Manathunga and Ven Ududumbara Sobitha Thero, coordinated by Brigadier Anil Peiris.

Both houses, erected for Mr D.M Shantha in Moragollagama, Kekirawa and Mr A Ravindra Ranasinghe in Ruwangama, Thanthirimale were thus warmed during separate ceremonies on account of the 72nd Army Anniversary.

Under the guidance of the GOC 21 Division, Major General Mohan Rathnayaka and the supervision of the Commander, 212 Brigade, Brigadier R.P.A.R.P Rajapaksha those two houses were separately constructed by 7 (V) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and 5 (V) Sri Lanka National Guard troops.

Brigadier Anil Peiris, Commander Armour Brigade and the Chief Civil Affairs Officer at the SFHQ - Wanni, Lieutenant Colonel D.B.R.E.W.M.M.W.N Madugalla participated in those warming ceremonies as Chief Guests.

Commanding Officers 7 (V) SLAC and 5 (V) SLNG and Civil Affairs Officer in the 212 Brigade and relatives of the beneficiaries attended those inaugural ceremonies.
