Security Forces Headquarters - West, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Headquarters and Sri Lanka National Guard Headquarters jointly took part in a 'Seela Samadhi' religious programme at the Bodhirajaramaya Army Temple on account of the Poson Poya day (14).
A few hundreds of Army personnel observed religious rites and rituals, meditation practices and different ‘Poojas’ in commemoration of the arrival of Arhath Mahinda in Mihintale some 2300 years ago with the message of ‘Buddhism’ from India.
The day’s programme got underway on the guidelines given by Major General Deepal Pussella, Commander, Security Forces - West and Chairman of the Army Buddhist Association.
