The General Officer Commanding, 52 Division, Major General Sanjeewa Fernando and all the troops, extended their maximum support for conduct of the annual 'Katina Cheevara Pooja' pinkama at Navatkuli Sammidhi Sumana Vihara in Navatkuli, Jaffna.
It was held during 15 - 16 under the guidance of Ven Hanwelle Rathnasiri Thero, the Incumbent at Navatkuli Sammidhi Sumana Viharaya.
Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Chandana Wijayasundara attended the ‘Pirith’ chanting and the Katina Cheewara Pooja (ritual offering of new robes) as the Chief Guest at the invitation of the GOC, 52 Division.
22 Buddhist monks attended the chanting and the following day’s Katina Cheewara Pooja.
The General Officer Commanding, 52 Division, Commanders of 521 and 522 Brigades and all Commanding officers under the 52 Division participated in the ceremonies.
