Troops on Request Assist Construction of 'Sanghawasaya' in Sinhapura Temple

9 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery troops under the supervision of the 233 Infantry Brigade of the 23 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ-East erected the residential quarters, 'Sanghawasaya' at Sri Gemunu Viharaya in Sinhapura on request and formally left it to Ven Dickelle Gnanapradeepalankara Nayaka Thero during a simple ceremony on Sunday (02 July).

Major General U. D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Commander, Security Forces - East formally informed the monk of the completion of the erection, sponsored by Mr. Chinthaka Abeysekara, an old Royalist and Mrs. Theja Kapuruge, an old Vishakiyan through the coordination of Mr. Prasad Lokubalasooriya of the 'Atha Hitha' humanitarian project.

The 9 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery provided manpower and technical assistance for the construction work under the close supervision of Colonel A.K.C.S De Silva, the Commander of 233 Infantry Brigade, and Lieutenant Colonel M.I.S Chandrakumara USP psc IG, Commanding Officer of the 9 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery.

Mr. Prasad Lokubalasooriya and representatives of the donors were prersent during the opening. The project cost Rs. 167,200.00 for the sponsors.

The Commander of 233 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of 9 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery, and Officers of the Battalion, were also present during the event.
