20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops (SLSR) of the 121 Brigade under the 12 Division on Thursday (2) during a foot patrol in the general area of Telulla, Ethiliwewa raided two plots of cannabis (Ganja) cultivations and found more than 2500 saplings of different sizes.
On being informed, Policemen in Kudaoya Police station arrived at the location and took charge of about 1500 saplings of 8 - 12 inches high and 1000 saplings of 2 feet tall that had been pulled out by Army personnel.
Major U.A Thilakasiri, Commanding Officer, 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on the directions of Brigadier D.U.N Serasinghe, 121 Brigade Commander carried out the task after information was conveyed to the troops.
