As the threat of 'Dengue' epidemic is rising in different parts of the country, 111 Brigade and 112 Brigade troops under the 11 Division of the Security Force HQ-Central conducted awareness programmes on spread of 'Dengue' in the general areas of Katukele, Kiribathkumbura, Augustustwatte, Rajawella, Niyangandora and Dik Oya areas on Friday (12) with the support of Public Health Inspectors and civilians by way of demonstrations and lectures.
A large number of civilians in those areas participated in those awareness programmes and learnt about the threat of 'Dengue' and how mosquitoes breed them. The project was launched on the directions of the Commander, Security Forces- Central, Major General Keerthi Costa.
