Bringing the ‘Sri Paada’ season to the culmination with advent of the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day, the symbolic statue of God Saman and sacred ornaments were brought to Nallathanniya on Monday (17) in a procession in accordance with traditions.
About 100 members of 19 Sri Lanka National Guard of the Army under command to the 112 Brigade of the 11 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Central volunteered to bring those down to Nallathanniya on their shoulders in consultation with the Chief Incumbent, Ven Bengamuwe Dhammadinna Nayake Thero.
Major General Samantha Silva, Commander Security Forces - Central, Colonel Chandima Kumarasinghe, Commander, 112 Brigade and a few senor Officers were also associated with the arrangement.
