In order to encourage students for studies, a total of 47 students in the Sacred Heart Family Convent in Mullaittivu were gifted with school accessories on 28 March 2022 through sponsorship provided by Rev Father Charles Thomas, the popular preacher and social activist.
The Chief Matron of the Convent made the request to this effect to Major General G.D Sooriyabandara, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division who in turn found the donor who spent about Rs 700,000/= for purchase of those essentials for students.
Brigadier Chaminda Arachchige, Commander, 592 Brigade and few Senior Officers together with civilians in the area joined the occasion.
