The Security Force HQ - East (SFHQ-East) at the request of the monks at Kawudagala ‘Aaranya Senasanaya’ ancient monastery temple at Welikanda facilitated the planting of an offshoot of the Anuradhapura Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya after it was taken to the premises in a colourful pageant on Saturday (15).
The Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Priyantha Jayawardene responding to the request of Ven Devagala Pragnaseehalankara Thero, Chief Incumbent organized the arrangements for conduct of the pageant with the participation of monks, troops and devotees in the area.
Colombo Fort Magistrate, Mr Thilina Gamage, Commander, 233 Brigade, Brigadier Wasantha Hewage and, Resident Project Manager of Mahaweli “H” Zone, Mr Indika Ranaweera, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Security Force HQ - East and Villagers attended ‘Pinkama’.
It was coordinated by the Chief Civil Affairs Officer, SFHQ-East, Colonel Rajiv Fernando.
