Troops Continue Relief Measures for Flood-Affected Matara Victims

Troops of the 61 Infantry Division are currently engaged in humanitarian relief assistance for those who have been affected by heavy rains in Matara, Thihagoda, Malimbada, Kamburupitiya, Akuressa, Pitabeddara, Athuraliya and Dikwella areas in different Divisional Secretariat areas.

Accordingly, 613 Infantry Brigade troops on Thursday (5 October) provided cooked meals to those affected by ravaging flood waters and visited their doorsteps. The Sri Lanka Army as per directions of the Army Chief will continue these humanitarian efforts in affected areas until normalcy returns.
