Giving further push to the island-wide ongoing house construction projects for needy families as instructed by the Commander of the Army, the 241 Brigade HQ under the 24 Division of the SFHQ-East commenced work for construction of a new home for a deserving family in Periya Neelavanai in GN Division in Kalmunai on Sunday (13).
The sponsorship for the cost is provided by the philanthropists Manpower and technical expertise for the construction is to be made available by troops of the 241 Brigade on the directions of Brigadier Janaka Wimalarathna, Commander 241 Brigade. Major Shantha Wijekoon, Commanding Officer of 3 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) of the 241 Brigade have undertaken the task.
The project is to be completed within a few weeks.
