Troops of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regimental (SLSR) Centre of the 141 Brigade under the 14 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ- West) swiftly took urgent measures to contain a fast spreading wild bushfire in the general area of Bothale, Mirigama in Gampaha District today (23) at about 12.30 in the afternoon.
The fire that broke out in Akeshiya plantation in Bothale, Mirigama area at about 12.30 p.m today (23) was reportedly spreading fast at the time Army troops had arrived at the scene.
On the instructions of the acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva and Major General A.S Ariyasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 14 Division, one Officer and 25 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops of the 141 Brigade Commanded by Colonel Chamila Munasinghe brought the situation under control. bridge media | Nike
