Just days ahead of the annual temple festival at Sri Ghanadurga Amman Kovil in Eluththumadduval North, Jaffna, 52 Infantry Division troops under the Security Force HQ-Jaffna cleaned the temple compound on Thursday (29) during morning hours.
The gesture that symbolized the goodwill and harmony prevailing between civilians and Security Forces was launched as per directions of Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division.
The Kovil festival is due to be held in early July and a few more than 25 Army troops and civilians joined the cleaning project.
