Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Central on Sunday (13) evening swiftly responded and quickly cleared the railway track patch between Haputale and Idalgashinna after torrential rains caused a landslide in the area disrupting passage of train services.
Troops removed boulders, rocks and mounds of earth that had affected the track and restored normalcy within hours. Brigadier Kumara Wanasinghe, Brigadier General Staff of the Security Force Headquarters - Central closely monitored the contribution of the troops.
