Troops of 5 VIR Successfully Completes the Battalion Training Course at Katukeliyawa

The troops of the 5 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) successfully completed their Battalion Training Course at the 1 Corp Battalion Training School in Katukeliyawa. The course commenced on 19 February 2024 and concluded on 08 April 2024. Major General H.D.W.K.N Eriyagama RWP RSP, the General Officer Commanding, the 58 Infantry Division, graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest.

14 Officers and 301 Other Ranks of the 5 VIR participated in the course. During the course, each participant was able to refresh their knowledge and improve their individual and collective skills.

Best Student & Best Shooter – Captain W.B.S.P.G Fernando

Best in Physical Fitness – Corporal R.M.A.G Madduma Bandara

Best Company - Alpha Company.

Best Platoon – Second Platoon of ‘A’ Company.

Best Section – First Section of Second Platoon, A Company.
