Troops of 3 (V) SLSR and 19 SLNG Help Take Gold Buddha Statue to Sri Pada

Dozens of soldiers of the 3 (Volunteer) Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and 19 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) contributed their manpower on Saturday (7) and helped devotees carry a gold plated Thai Buddha Statue to Sri Paada mountain peak to coincide with the onset of the pilgrimage season.

The troops under the guidance of the Chief incumbent of Sri Paada, Ven Bengamuwe Dammadinna Nayake Thera, and the close supervision of the Commander 112 Brigade took the statute with devotees.
