A Career Guidance awareness seminar, conceptualized by the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division Major General Saliya Amunugama got underway at the 22 Infantry Division Headquarters with the support of ‘Rotaract Club’ of Trincomalee on 11 March 2023 for the benefit of young school leavers in the area.
The intention of this seminar was to guide the youth of the area, especially the school leavers towards well planned career destination without ending up as anti-social elements in future. The seminar was conducted by well-known professional career counsellor Mrs. Chandima Rodrigo of National Career Guidance and Counseling Centre in State Ministry of Skill Development, Vocational Education, Research and innovations.
There were over 150 school leavers and potential job-seekers participated in the seminar. All of them were enlightened on future career goals and career paths which they can choose to achieve success in future.
At the end of the seminar participants were treated to refreshments and a lunch arranged by 22 Infantry Division HQ with the support of under command Brigades and Battalions.
The dedication and commitment of all ranks of the 22 Infantry Division and the support with goodwill extended by under command Brigades and Battalion made this effort a great success. Rotaract Club Trincomalee supported immensely by coordinating the youth participation for this seminar.
