Tri Forces Join Awareness Programme on "Dengue" at Jaffna

An awareness programme on ‘Dengue’ was conducted by the National Dengue Control Unit for Tri Forces serving in Jaffna, Kilinochchi and Mannr Districts on 24 August 2017.

The programme, organized by the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) on the directions of Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, Commander, SFHQ-J, was held at the auditorium in the SFHQ-J Headquarters.

The main aim of this session was to educate security personnel on ‘How to identify the most vulnerable Dengue mosquito breeding places and how to destroy them’.

At the same time, they were educated on ‘Minimizing of the chances for outbreak of Dengue in order to prevent Dengue’.

Dr. Prashila Samaraweera and Mrs. Sakunthala Janakee, experts in the health sector conducted lectures and presentations to educate the troops.

More than 200 tri servicemen participated in the event.
