The one-month long English Language and Leadership Training Course for trainee Public Health Inspectors (PHI) at island-wide government-run PHI schools got underway at Saliyapura Gajaba Regiment Regimental centre during 30 August-30 September- 2022.
This language and leadership training programme was initiated under the direction of the Commander of the Army and the supervision of the Directorate of Training in response to a request of the Ministry of Health.
321 PHI trainees representing island-wide PHI schools participated in the training programme, designed to improve English language proficiency and Leadership traits, inclusive of personality development, individual attitudes, behaviours and approaches, etc.
The Deputy Centre Commandant, Colonel Roshan Kalupahana, GR Regimental Centre representing the Centre Commandant attended the certificate award ceremony as the chief guest on 30 September. The group of instructors in the Course was also awarded tokens of appreciation at the same occasion.
