To be in parallel with the Army Commander's 'Thuru Mithuru Nawatarak' project, 572 Brigade troops under the 57 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Killinochchi distributed 100 coconut seedlings among 10 low income families in Periyakulam, Kattakadu and Punnanirau areas on Saturday (26).
Commander 572 Brigade Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala together with 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 14 Sri Lanka National Guard troops and their Commanders joined the event.
The project was launched on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding, 57 Division Major General Priyantha Jayawardana under guidance of Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces-Kilinochchi. Civil Affairs Officer and the 572 Brigade HQ coordinated the project.
