A 20-20 cricket tournament, organised by Alpatha Sports club in Uppukulam on Monday (23) at Uppukulam Alpatha Sports ground in collaboration with the 54 Division and several other civil clubs in Mannar District gave the win to the Aksharian Tigers Sports club in Mannar.
The event was organized to promote peace, harmony and reconciliation among the civil community and foster better relations with the Security Forces.
The champions of the tournament after the final match with Kashmir Lions Sports club – Mannar was awarded to Aksharian Tigers Sports Club.
General Officer Commanding 54 Division Brigadier A.A.I.J Bandara graced the awarding ceremony as the Chief Guest. Winners were awarded Rs 60,000/= in cash while the runner-up got Rs 30,000/= in cash.
