SVAB President Impressed with Skills of Pre-School Children

TWO exhibitions of handicraft organized by kids of two SVAB (Seva Vanitha Army Branch)-managed pre-schools in Anuradhapura and Kandy were inaugurated by SVAB President Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya on Wednesday (11) at respective pre-schools. 

Kids at Anuradhapura 'Rankekulu' and Kandy 'Virukekulu' pre-schools welcomed Mrs Jayasuriya who later declared open both exhibitions cutting ribbons and lighting traditional oil lamps.

Mrs. Jayasuriya highly impressed with skills of younger ones learning at SVAB-run pre-schools, distributed gift parcels among all the children in appreciation of their creative works.

On the same occasions, 33 children at Anuradhapura Rankekulu and 62 children at Kandy Virukekulu who are to enter government schools for their formal education in 2010 received certificates attesting the successful completion of pre-school education. She also wished them all good luck and bright future.

The SVAB President planted a tree sapling at the Kandy Virukekulu pre-school premises and addressed a gathering of SVAB members and parents.
 
 This programme is an annual event organized by SVAB-managed pre-schools islanwide.
