Members of the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB), led by SVAB President, Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya visited Mulleriyawa Mental Hospital for Women and offered a Christmas treat to the inmates in Ward no 16 on Friday (24).
The Ward 16, being maintained by the SVAB for the last few years, receives this special SVAB treat every year as part of the SVAB’s Christmas programmes. All the inmates received gift parcels, containing clothes, confectionaries, daily essentials from Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya during this special occasion.
Towards the end of the programme, Santa Claus went on distributing compliments to music, provided by Army Music Band.
Mrs Jayasuriya and the SVAB group were welcomed by matron in charge of the ward on arrival at the premises. Chairpersons in all Regimental Seva Vanitha Units, SVAB members and a few Army officers attended the arrangement.
