The Major Limited over Premier League 2019 / 20 organized by the Sri Lanka Cricket Council got underway from 14 to 29 December 2019 competed by 27 teams. Warrant Officer II Asela Gunarathne headed the Sri Lanka Army cricket team who battled out against ‘Sinhala Sports Club’, ‘Baduraliya – BRC’, ‘Negombo’ and ‘Lankan’ teams under section ‘A’. During the Semi finals of the tournament, played between the Sri Lanka Army Cricket team and NCC team the win went to the NCC team.
After competing 5 tournaments, the semi finals got under way at MCG grounds on 28 December 2019 between Sri Lanka Air Force team and the Sri Lanka Army team. After scoring 207 marks for 5 wickets the SL Army team was able to win. During the match, Major Dinesh Chandimal scored 67 runs.
The semi finals got underway at SSC grounds on 29 December 2019 with the NCC team and the Army team. At the semi finals NCC team won the match defeating Sri Lanka Army Team by 22 runs.
