With Sponsor's Support, Dry Rations Provided to Temples in East

With the sole intention of providing maximum possible relief assistance, the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) with the support of a Gampaha-based donor, provided a large consignment of dry rations and essentials to temples at Dimbulagala, Kalkuda, Kadawathmaduwa and Welikanda areas on Tuesday (26).

Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - East under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces East, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena and with the sponsorship of Mr. Prasad Lokubalasuriya of Gampaha. conducted this project under the 'Shasanaloka' programme, being coordinated by the Security Force Headquarters-East.

As the first phase, the Buddhist monks at Dimbulagala Temple were provided dry ration packs, worth of Rs. 90,000.00 and the resident monks at Siri Seelalankara Pirivena in Kalkuda, served by 233 Brigade troops were afterwards offered dry rations to the value of Rs. 45,000.00.

Similarly, dry ration packs, worth about Rs. 25,000.00 and Rs 30,000 were separately offered to the Kadawathmaduwa Temple at Kadawathmaduwa and the monks at Welikanda temple respectively. The donor, Mr Prasad Lokubalasuriya also took part in the distribution along with Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Commander, SF-East.

Chief Incumbents of respective temples, Brigadier Coordination, Brigadier Kapila Chakrawarthi, Chief Coordinator of Civil Affairs, Colonel Rajiv Fernando, Senior Officers and the donors of Gampaha Udugampola area, Mr. Prasad Lokubalasuriya, Mr. Saman Gunarathna and Mr Asiri Wijewardane were also associated with the donation programmes.
