In order to invoke spiritual blessings on the country for eradication of COVID-19 pandemic, the Kailasanadar Vadiwambihei Shivam Kovil in Nallur and Sri Naga Viharaya in Jaffna on Thursday (09) held separate special chantings, offerings, rites and rituals.
This meritorious deed was organized by the staff at the Security Force HQ-Jaffna under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces Jaffna, Major General Jagath Kodituwakku. The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Commander of the Army and Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), General Shavendra Silva too has given his instructions for the project.
The first segment of the day was held at Kailasanadar Vadiwambihei Shivam Kovil in Nallur with the participation of the Commander, Security Forces and many other religious dignitaries. Later, in the evening, an all-night Pirith chanting commenced at Sri Naga Viharaya premises in the presence of Major General Jagath Kodituwakku in the heart of Jaffna to invoke blessings on the people. Concluding the event, morning alms (Heel Daana) were offered to the Maha Sangha on the following day.
