Soldiers Donate their Blood to Jaffna Hospital

Giving due recognition and its due place in the history of island-wide Security Force Headquarters (SFHQ), the troops of the oldest SFHQ, Jaffna on Saturday (23) marked its 22nd birth anniversary by staging a mega blood donation camp for the best interests of the patients lying at Jaffna Teaching Hospital.

Over 158 troops, including their SF Commander, Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi volunteered to offer their blood to poor patients in that hospital as there exists a need for blood as the numbers of surgeries are always on the increase. A medical team of eight people, including the PHI for the area serviced the mobile blood collecting event. Many more soldiers attended the occasion thinking that they too could join this meritorious act.
