Soft Ball Cricket Tournament Organized by 541 Infantry Brigade

Under the guidance of General Officer Commanding, 54 Infantry Division, the 541 Infantry Brigade organized a soft ball cricket tournament in collaboration with the Integrated Youth Development Association (IYDA) sports club. The event took place on 23, 24 and 25 February 2024 at the Periyamadu West playground.

Ten enthusiastic cricket teams from the local sport clubs in the Manthaiwest Divisional Secretariat area showcased their skills in this spirited tournament. Major General K.M.P.S.B Kulathunga RSP ndc psc, the General Officer Commanding, 54 Infantry Division, graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The financial backing for this tournament came from the generous contribution of the IYDA sports club and the supportive businessmen residing in Periyamadu area, exemplifying community involvement and support for sports development.

Brigadier B.Y.C Fernando RWP USP, the Commander, 541 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and more than 800 villagers participated in the event.
