SOCPAC Delegation Discusses Training Modules with Army Chief

A US delegation of the Special Operation Command Pacific (SOCPAC), headed by Rear Admiral Jeromy B. Williams currently in Sri Lanka had an official discussion this afternoon (9 Nov) with Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army on modules related to Army training programmes.

During the official discussion at the Army Headquarters, both Military Officers exchanged views on future training strategies and enhanced cooperation with the Special Operation Command Pacific, based in Hawaii.

Representing the US Embassy in Sri Lanka, United States Pacific Command, Pacific Command Augmentation Team, Lieutenant Colonel Nelson, Defence Attaché of the US Embassy in Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Hamilton and Master Sergeant Irish were associated with the meeting at the Commander’s office.

Towards the end of the discussion, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage awarded mementoes to US delegates. The gesture was reciprocated.

Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Director General General Staff and Brigadier P.K.S Nandana RSP USP psc, Director, Directorate of Training also participated in the discussion.
