So Far 42,980 after Quarantining Sent Back Home-NOCPCO

As of this morning (19), five expatriates were confirmed positive to COVID-19. They are from Oman (01) at Giragama QC, India (01) at Hotel Jetwing Beach QC, Bahrain (01) at Carolina Beach QC in Negombo, Hong Kong (01) at Jetwing Blue Hotel QC and from Libya (01) at Carolina Beach QC in Negombo, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (19), the total number of detainees in quarantine at Kandakadu and Senapura Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres for Drug Addicts stands at 649. Of them, 528 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison.

The flight EY 264 from Abu Dhabi with 09 passengers and the flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 67 passengers had arrived. Likewise, the flight UL 226 from Saudi Arabia with 13 passengers and the flight UL 208 from Qatar with 02 passengers are expected to arrive in Sri Lanka today (19). All of them were to be referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (19), 281 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them were 01 person from Ruwala Kalpitiya QC, 13 from Nipuna Boossa QC, 06 from Oluwil QC, 115 from Kahagolla QC, 03 from Hotel Jetwing Blue, 24 from Hotel Jetwing Sea QC, 21 from Sigiriya Village QC, 16 from Rajagiriya Ayurveda QC and 82 from Army General Service Corps QC.

Likewise, 42,980 individuals by this morning (19) have been sent back home after quarantining. 6172 persons in 62 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (18), 1760 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 264,343.

Meanwhile, 17 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (19). All of them are expatriates. Accordingly, 638 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts at Kandakadu have left so far after recovery. A total of 11 infected persons, connected to the Rehabilitation Centre are still under treatment. Since no positive cases have been reported from society other than those arriving from overseas, all Sri Lankans are urged to continue their health practices and help prevention of its transmission as per instructions given by health authorities.
