Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Quarter Master General and Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on Friday (11) attended the closing ceremony of the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers' Refresher Course, conducted at the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (RHQ SLSR) HQ in Ambepussa.
Colonel Vajira Amarasiri, Deputy Centre Commandant, SLSR welcomed the Colonel of the Regiment on arrival at the venue before he was invited by the General Staff Officer 1 RHQ SLSR to address the course attendees as a formality.
This refresher course was conducted under the guidance of Major General Priyantha Jayawardena for 195 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers who were promoted to coincide with the 75th Independence day of Sri Lanka. The course continued for seven days covered Drills, Leadership, Etiquettes, Communicative techniques, Military Law, Organization and several other fields.
During the address, he highlighted the value of knowledge, experience, discipline, motivation and commitment of the individual for the success of their responsibilities in the Army. Senior Officers, officers and instructors of the course attended the occasion.
