Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops at the SLSR Regimental Centre in Ambepussa on Sunday (16 July) bade farewell to the retiring Brigadier U.S.N.K Perera RSP USP of the SLSR during the formal military ceremony.
A Guard Turnout at the entrance plus a Guard of Honour at the parade ground saluted him before he made a floral tribute to the SLSR War Heroes’ monument in the Regimental Centre as a mark of respect.
The Senior Officer upon completion of nearly 34 years of valuable service before his departure addressed the troops and thanked them for the support extended by the Regimental HQ. He also posed for a few photos and joined an All Rank tea at the main auditorium.
Major General G.R.R.P Jayawardena RWP RSP ndu, Colonel of the Regiment of SLSR and Quarter Master General on behalf of all in the SLSR presented a memento to the outgoing Senior Officer as a symbolic appreciation of his dedicated and committed services before his exit.
At the same occasion, Mrs. Omila Jayawardena, Chairperson, SLSR Seva Vanitha Branch, awarded a special memento to the spouse of the retiring Senior Officer, Mrs. Lasika Nadee Munasinghe.
Senior Officers including council members, SLSR Staff Officers, Officers and their spouses participated in the day's proceedings.
