SLSR Colonel of the Regiment Begins his Unit Visits

Major General Priyantha Jayawardena made his maiden visit to the 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) camp, located in Gothamigama, Kataragama on Saturday (7) after he assumed duties as the Colonel of the Regiment.

The visiting Colonel of the Regiment was welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel Ajith Thilakasiri, Commanding Officer of 20 SLSR at the entrance to the Battalion HQ and invited him to review the military Guard Turnout, presented by troops.

Afterwards, he planted a Mango sapling in the camp premises to mark the visit. Subsequently, the Commanding Officer, 20 SLSR presented a comprehensive brief of their role and tasks.

During the troop address, Colonel of the Regiment highlighted the importance of maintaining a high standard of discipline and sustained training of troops in the Battalion. He also inquired into facilities of soldiers and closely inspected the ongoing and existing constructions and the layout of the battalion during his sojourn.

Prior to his exit, he signed the Visitors’ Book in the Battalion. Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala, Center Commandant, Sri Lanka Sinha Regimental Headquarters and Senior Officers were associated with the visit.
