The 2019 Inter Regiment Carom Championship was contested during 23-26 July at SL Signal Corps Regimental Centre premises together with competitors from fourteen regiments.
The awarding ceremony was graced by Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri, Director General General Staff of the Sri Lanka Army as the Chief Guest.
Major General Anura Sudasinghe, Director General Sports and several Centre Commandants of various regiments, together with sport officers attended the occasion to encourage the competitors of their regiments.
During the Men’s Championship, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Carom team emerged as Champions at the tournament defeating the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) in the finals whilst 3 Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) became the Champions in the women’s event and 5 SLAWC became the Women’s Runners-Up.
Sapper P.L.C Madusanka of Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) and Private H.A.S Sadamali of SLAWC were the best players in Men’s category and in women’s category.
