SLSC Extends Best Wishes to Retiring Colonel Commandant

Major General Ashoka Peiris, the retiring 14th Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Signal Corps received a customary farewell on 05 June 2022 at SLSC Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda before he relinquishes his duties after an exemplary service of more than 35 years.

Major General Ashoka Peiris in conformity with military traditions was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant, Brigadier Sudantha Fonseka and accorded a Guard Turnout on his arrival at the main entrance of RHQ SLSC.

Afterwards, he laid a floral wreath at the War Heroes’ monument in remembrance of fallen War Heroes. Subsequently, he was honoured in a Guard of Honour which was followed by all ranks tea party held in WOs’ & Sgt Mess.

Then, he addressed all troops and Colonel Commandant was presented with a souvenir in appreciation of his reputed service, rendered to the Regiment during the all ranks lunch.

Later, all Officers and Other Ranks in a moving gesture, honoured him in a street line salute up to the main gate.

The formalities culminated with a formal dinner night, hosted by Officers at the Regimental Officers’ Mess.
