SLMA Officer Cadets Visit SFHQs of KLN, MLT & Jaffna

A group of 39 Officer Cadets from Intake - 87 who are undergoing training at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) as part of their familiarization projects called at the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi, Mullaittivu and Jaffna on during 27-28 Aug.

On behalf of Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi, Brigadier H.M. N Herath, Brigadier Admin and Quartering welcomed them and the General Officer - II Security Forces – Kilinochchi presented a comprehensive briefing on the role and tasks, history and responsibilities of the SFHQ – Kilinochchi.

Towards the end of the arrangement, those visiting Officer Cadets presented a memento to the Brigadier Admin and Quartering at the SFHQ - Kilinochchi.

Meanwhile, they visited the SFHQ-Mullaittivu also on same day. They were welcomed by Brigadier Thilak Weerakoon, Brigadier General Staff (BGS) SF-MLT on behalf of Major General Dushyantha Rajaguru, Commander SF-MLT.

The welcome speech was conducted by the General Staff Officer (GSO) 1 (coordination) and the GSO 2 (Training) delivered a lecture to the Cadets on the role and tasks of the SFHQ-MLT.

Another informative lecture was conducted to the officer cadets on humanitarian operation by the second in command 12 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Brigade Major (BM) 593 Brigade. BM of the 591 Brigade also assisted the delivery of the speech. A memento was also presented by visiting Officer Cadets.

Thirty - six Officer Cadets of Intake 87, from the Sri Lanka Military Academy, paid a visit to Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna during 28 - 29. The visit was scheduled as a part of their training curriculum.

In the meantime, Brigadier General Staff of the Security Force HQ Jaffna warmly welcomed the visiting Officer Cadets when they arrived at the SFHQ-J. They were briefed on the role and responsibilities of the Security Forces - Jaffna, the present situation and the efforts taken by the military to develop the livelihoods of the people to enhance the government's reconciliation mechanism in the Jaffna Peninsula in the post-conflict scenario.

Later they visited the Jaffna Fort, Araly Point, Ponnale Pond and the Naguleshvaram Kovil were the other places of interest in Jaffna.
