‘Presentations of Academic Modules’, one of the main highlights of the Sri Lanka Military Academy's (SLMA) Graduation Ceremony to be held on Saturday (21) at Diyatalawa took place last evening (20) at the SLMA auditorium in the presence of the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Major General (Retd) Kamal Gunarathne as the Chief Guest, together with Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army.
A total of 321 SLMA-groomed officer cadets, including lady cadets are expected to receive their commissions this morning (21) and move out to island-wide formations to serve the country.
It is a customary tradition to supervise and evaluate their final syndicate presentations on different academic disciplines they learnt at the SLMA before they receive their commissions in the colourful ceremony.
Distinguished Guests, Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, President of Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Chief of Staff, Major General Nirmal Dharmaratne, Deputy Chief of Staff, Senior Officers and Cadet Officers were associated with the occasion.
