SLLI House Construction Project Warms One more New House in Imaduwa

Expanding its ongoing house-construction project of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI), initiated by the Colonel of the Regiment and Chief of Staff of the Army, Major General C.D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu for the benefit of SLLI soldiers completed one more house for a deserving SLLI soldier and formally warmed it during a ceremony in Imaduwa Galle on Thursday (29).

The house-construction project as directed by the Colonel of the Regiment, SLLI with the blessings of the Commander of the Army is now underway under three phases at each unit level after screening the most deserving soldiers who are without a home of their own.

The new house, built in Imaduwa was accordingly received by a married Non-Commissioned Officer of the 12 SLLI Regiment who has been serving the Army for more than 15 years. It was warmed in a ceremony by the Colonel of the Regiment, SLLI, Major General C.D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu, in the presence of the beneficiaries, relatives, invitees and All Ranks including several Senior Officers.

Troops of the 12 SLLI on the directions of the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel R.A.A Ranawaka RWP RSP USP psc provided their manpower, engineering and technical skills for the construction of the new house.

The conceptual notion of the Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment, prompted all SLLI battalions to construct a new house for one of the selected soldiers in their respective battalions.

Colonel M.P.S.P Kulasekara WWV RWP RSP, Center Commandant of SLLI Regimental Headquarters, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the house-warming ceremony.
