The new Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), Major General Wasantha de Abrew made official visits to 6 SLLI, 7SLLI, 11 SLLI, 12 SLLI, 15 SLLI, 23 SLLI, 9 (Volunteer) SLLI, 14 (Volunteer) SLLI and 16 (Volunteer) SLLI on Friday (22), 23 SLLI camps and spoke to his troops on Sunday (24).
Respective battalion Commanding Officers received the Colonel of the Regiment and accompanied him to receive the Guard Turnout at the camp premises.
To make his first visit memorable, the Colonel of the Regiment planted saplings in those camp compounds and listened to a comprehensive briefing, presented by the Commanding Officers on their operational and administrative matters.
