SLLI Athletes Secure 2nd Place

Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) athletes with four new SLAVF records clinched the second place in the recently concluded Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) Athletic Meet-2015 at Diyagama Sports Stadium.

SLAVF Athletic Meet-2015 was held at Diyagama Sports Stadium. on 14, 15 and 16 July 2015 with the participation of over 600 male and female athletes representing all regiments. The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest.

SLLI became the Runner-Up with four new Volunteer Meet records. Here are SLLI men who did the Regiment Proud;

2 Lieutenant R.P.W Dayaratne – Javelin Throw (74.28m)
Private R.K.C.S. Somawardena  - 1500 meters (3min 22.8secs)
Private J.L. Prasanjith - 400 meters (52.74secs)
4 x 800 meters Relay  - (7min 29.8secs)
