Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) troops on Monday (30) on the directions of Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army at short notice assisted the installation of the Medical Air System in the ICU at Mulleriyawa Hospital after a request to that effect had been made by Dr Anil Jasingha, Director General of Health Services to the Army Chief.
Installation of these essential accessories in the ICU enabled the smooth function of this unit, comprised of 24 beds that can be used in an emergency, according to medical authorities in the hospital.
