SLEME (Artillery) Regiment-Refurbished Seven 25- Pounder Guns Delivered to SLA

The Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (Artillery) Regiment on 17 June formally handed over seven completely refurbished 25 pounder guns to the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) Regiment for use during their ceremonial duties.

Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe, Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment and Commander, Security Forces, Mullaittivu graced the occasion at the SLA parade ground as the Chief Guest.

Experts in the SLEME under the directions of Major General Indu Samarakoon, Commander, Army Logistics Command and Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Major A.M.V.A Attanayaka, Commanding Officer of SLEME (Artillery) Regiment refurbished and repaired those guns, saving a large sum of money to the organization.

Director, Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Brigadier J.A.R.S.K Jayasekara, Commander, Artillery Brigade, Brigadier D.P Welagedara, Centre Commandant, Regimental Centre - Sri Lanka Artillery, Brigadier H.H.K.S.S Hewage, Deputy Centre Commandant, Regimental Centre-Sri Lanka Artillery, Colonel W.W.K Rohan, Colonel (Ceremonial), Directorate of Personnel Administration, Colonel M.P.S.P Kulasekara, attended the event as invitees.
