The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) Regimental Headquarters at Polhengoda on Saturday (8), hosted a farewell parade for one of its proud Senior Officers, Brigadier D.M.A Bandara, who retired after a dedicated service of more than three decades.
The day’s ceremony commenced with the customary Guard Turnout and a formal farewell parade that followed at the RHQ parade ground.
A customary farewell dinner, later in the evening was hosted to the retiring Senior Officer where Provost Officers and their spouses participated. The Colonel Commandant of SLCMP delivered the farewell note extending a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation for the service rendered by Brigadier Anura Bandara.
Brigadier D.M.A Bandara in turn thanked the Colonel Commandant, all Officers of the Provost family and all ranks for the support they extended during his tenure. He shared his experiences with Junior Officers and urged them to perform duties as a disciplined Provost Officer while safeguarding the reputation of the organization.
The Colonel Commandant of SLCMP and the Commander, Forward Maintenance Area- Mullaitivu Major General A.L Illangakoon, together with the Provost Marshal Major General A.C.A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc, Council Members, Senior Officers and Officers participated in the formal ceremony.
