SLCMP Headquarters Opens Its New Bakery & Marks 29th Anniversary

Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) Regimental Headquarters at Narahenpita recently opened its newly-constructed bakery unit in the premises during a simple ceremony to coincide with their annual Sinhala and Hindu New Year festival.

Major General D.K.G.D Sirisena, Colonel Commandant of SLCMP and Commander - HQ Log Command cut a ribbon and opened the new bakery at the invitation of Colonel A.L Illangakoon, Centre Commandant at SLCMP Headquarters.

On the following day (19), the SLCMP Regimental Headquarters marked its 29th anniversary giving priority to religious programmes and commemoration of fallen War Heroes.

A Bodhi Pooja, Pirith Chanting, alms-giving and laying of wreaths at the SLCMP memorial in Narahenpita. On the same day, a parade saluted Major General D.K.G.D Sirisena on his arrival at the premises before he joined an All Rank tea arrangement.
