One more training session at the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force HQ (SLAVF) at Kosgama on Wednesday (27 Sept) educated the SLAVF troops on the personality development theory of ‘Erik Erikson’ and the life as per directions of the Commandant, SLAVF, Major General D.M.K.D.B Pussella RWP RSP.
Ms. Bhagya Abeysinghe who pursues a career as a Counseling Psychologist delivered the lecture highlighting eight stages of psychosocial development from infancy to adulthood.
The successful completion of each stage, according to the lecturer, results in a healthy personality development and the acquisition of basic virtues to overcome challenges in life.
The lecturer is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), and has completed her post graduate studies in psychology and counseling.
The programme got underway under the close supervision of Major General M.T.K.R Silva KSP, Deputy Commandant of the SLAVF. Senior Officers, Officers and a large gathering of Other Ranks took part in the session.
