Major General Thusitha Silva, the recently - promoted Senior Officer assumed office as the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF). at Kosgama during a simple ceremony on Wednesday (17).
A Guard Turnout plus a parade saluted the new Deputy Commandant on arrival at the (SLAVF) HQ. Afterwards, amidst invocation of ‘Seth Pirith’ by Maha Sangha, Major General Thusitha Silva placed his signature for an official document, symbolizing the formal acceptance of his new appointment.
Major General Thusitha Silva was serving as the Inspector of Training of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, prior to his new appointment. Senior Officers including Staff Officers and Other Ranks attended the occasion to congratulate on his appointment and the promotion.
